The West Midlands Regional Sustainability Forum is an umbrella network of the environmental and transport Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) from across the West Midlands region. We have played an active role in regional decision making over a long period of time. This has involved policy and delivery aspects of environmental work and liaising with Sustainability West Midlands, the Biodiversity Partnership and the statutory environmental agencies.
Since 1997 and the emergence of the West Midlands Regional Assembly WMRSF have provided a number of people to seats on the full Assembly. We have also provided active participants in a range of task and finish groups and have played an active part in the development of the Regional Spatial Strategy and the Regional Economic Strategy.
WMRSF has positively engaged with the Sub National Review in England. We will continue to work at the regional level in the West Midlands as the new structures and architecture emerge. This will include engaging with The West Midlands Strategy, Regional Planning and the emerging Third Sector partnership organisation. We will strengthen our relationships with the West Midlands Biodiversity Partnership, Sustainability West Midlands and other regional partners from all sectors.
